CPS Computer Surveillance System: The CPS is a 3000 interval recorder with a radio receiver. The CPS monitors the transmissions from a check meter or RT Register transmitter and stores the readings in a non-volatile memory. The CPS can be programmed to store the readings every 5, 15, 30, 60 minutes, or once a day. The record is stored with the serial # of the source meter and date and time of the reading. The data stored in the CPS can be retrieved via a serial port cable or with a cell phone modem and uploaded to a computer spreadsheet. The data can then be graphed for observing the load profile, formulated to calculate demand and to provide evidence for determining the amount of theft. If a UTA (Tamper alarm) is installed on the suspect’s meter or apparatus, the CPS also monitors its RF transmission and stores the incidences of tampering by date and time in a separate memory location. When The CPS is equipped with a Cell Phone modem, the CPS can be programmed to call a Beeper or Host Computer and report the UTA alarm in real time. The serial number of the alarming UTA is transmitted to the beeper and displayed.
